How do I shave my chin/jaw-line?Updated 2 years ago

Shaving your chin, jaw-line, and other contours of your face (or body) with your OneBlade is easy due to the precision of the single edge, and the flexibility of the pivoting head. Keep in mind the following to experience your closest shaves:

When shaving these traditionally difficult areas, focus on engaging the razor’s pivoting head. The pivot is the ultimate tool against nicks and cuts for contoured areas. When the pivot is engaged you might not feel the blade on your skin. Remember: the blade should be cutting your facial hair, not scraping against your skin. If you're feeling discomfort and scraping, pay attention to how you’re engaging the pivot - ensuring the pressure your applying (if any) is on the upper (not lower) register.

Use short, precise strokes, letting the weight of the razor do its share of the work. For the CORE razor, we recommend applying a mild amount of pressure to engage the head's pivot. For the HYBRID and GENESIS razors, use little to no pressure as the weight of the razor will be enough to engage the pivot.

It is natural to want to stretch your skin, our extend your lower jaw to shave your chin, however, we recommend against doing so. To get a close, comfortable shave, relax the muscles of your face and allow your chin to stay neutral.

Our last tip is to remember the entirety of the razor’s head does not need to be in contact with your skin to achieve a close shave.
